Governor Jim Douglas was busy being Governor in 2008, but somehow he managed to participate in, according to WCAX, more than 12 debates with Anthony Pollina and Gaye Symington. He wasn’t afraid to tell Vermonters how he stood on the issues and why. The way Shumlin does Governor type things, he has all the time in the world for debates. But more debates would mean more tough questions to answer, like why he sided with the power companies on the merger and why the $21 million went to the efficiency fund which has almost nothing to do with electriciy. In 2011 I donated, I mean paid, $93.14 to CVPS for the efficiency fund fee that they charge on the monthly bills. Why has my power bill gone up when we were promised millions in savings> They did cut the rates some miniscule amount, but the surcharge for Irene damage resulted in a net increase in rates. Vermonters would like to hear Shumlin address these questions.
